Developing good spiritual judgment/character

It is important we all are(especially children) are trained to have good spiritual judgment.  Often it is not easy to figure out or intuitively sense the difference between healthy/positive/constructive behavior and unhealthy/negative/destructive behavior.  Practical spiritual beliefs/programming, along with the healthy type of spiritual/physical training these beliefs should inspire one to do, should help one to become better able to sense how to progress in a direction that will be good for your well being.  One needs to develop a good spiritual rudder to help steer oneself in a positive/healthy spiritual direction in all of ones behaviors.  The more one is tuned into oneself spiritually, the more one will be able to tune into others, so one can interact  with them in a healthy way spiritually.  Hard/serious physical/spiritual training can help one to better tune into the very hard/serious problems that exist in this world, the people most affected by these problems, and the spiritual causes of these problems.  Cardiovascular/heart exercise, meditative exercise, and a strict healthy diet(with nutritional supplements if needed)can help one to become able to more tune into the serious side of life, so that one can better figure out how to create serious positive consequences in ones life/world and avoid serious negative consequences in ones life/world.

It is so easy to get hurt when training ones body really hard in order to become really healthy physically and spiritually.   There is a fine line between safely pushing oneself extremely hard, and pushing oneself too hard and harming/injuring oneself.  Practice can help one to better develop the body awareness and intuition to become good at sensing this spiritual fine line.  But, one needs to have the practical spiritual beliefs that enable one to handle really the intense physical/spiritual states that hard/difficult physical/spiritual training involves.  Physical/spiritual training includes meditative movement exercises like the meditative walking&running that I have developed on a very intense level, and cardiovascular exercise like the dumbbell swing exercise I do.  It takes a long period of time to become good at these types of physical/spiritual exercises, and to adjust ones diet so that it supports ones ability to do these well.  One will find that a lean/leaner body will help one to better tune in spiritually when doing intense physical/spiritual training.  I find that the leaner my body becomes, the more important it is that I exercise even more intensely, so that my body will be able to be fit enough to handle being really lean.  Everyone does not have to become really lean, but they need to figure out what weight works best for giving them the spiritual/physical health they require to be able to perform their mission/purpose here in this life.

I feel people(like me) who specialize in the spiritual require the extra spiritual strength and awareness that a really lean well trained(cardiovascularly&meditatively) body without much extra muscle can provide.   People who use calorie restricted diets for life extension often have very low body weight, but are very healthy because of the very nutritious diet they are on.  In the past spiritual people have often used an austere lifestyle and diet to help their spiritual development, but they did not have the scientific knowledge we have today to help them do this in the healthiest way.  We have the knowledge today, that was not available in the past to be able to be able to make a lot more progress spiritually.  But, since we now live in an age in which overly permissive lifestyles(along with supportive overly tolerant/permissive spiritual beliefs) tend to be popular, it can be hard to not be controlled by a spiritual mindset, that is antagonistic to anything that is really difficult/challenging spiritually .

I have a lot of  blog posts on this site covering in more detail the type of training and beliefs that should work really well to improve ones spiritual/physical well being!

5/6/2016:  I have changed my training routine and have put on extra weight since printing this blog post.  I got a lot of good spiritual insights and improved my training when on this extremely austere(calorie restricted) diet I was on at that time.  I am now getting stronger in my training as a result of the weight gain which involves a combination of muscle and fat.  My strict diet has not changed except that I am not restricting calories as much.  I now eat small meals when ever my body gets hungry(8 meals every 3 hours around the clock).  I an training extremely hard and depending on the difficulty of my physical/spiritual training to keep me extremely healthy physically and spiritually.

In response to a video on nutrition I was urged to check out

The video was posted under this facebook status I posted:

I have made my diet more calorie restricted lately. I feel I really need to push the edge physically and spiritually in order to make things happen in this world for me and my spiritual ideas. I feel like I listen too much to those who are not the type that would be really interested in what i have to offer spiritually. I feel I can safely do things to become extremely healthy physically and spiritually that would not be safe for those without the really good spiritual beliefs I have. For those who my extreme spiritual-physical focus is too much for you to handle, you can unfriend me. I really need deep friendships, not good at other types!

I do take a multi-vitamin-mineral tablet twice a day and extra vitamin C, and vitamin B complex tablets. I also take a calcium-magnesium-zinc tablet(1/3 daily value). I trust my diet, since it has helped me to really push my physical and spiritual limits. I have had a strong focus on nutrition my whole life. Individuals do differ and must adjust their diet so it works well for them. I tend to be very unique, so my diet had to be tailored to my uniqueness by me over a life time of trial and error in this area. I did listen to parts of that video, but it is very long and not as concise and to the point as I prefer. Most video presentations I find do not get to the point quick enough for me.

The spiritual plays a very strong role as to health and helps one to better read ones body in order to figure out what works best for you individually. I train in a way spiritually unlike anyone else, and that affects my bodies nutritional/dietary requirements. One size does not fit all, and I am aware of that more than practically anyone else. I really trust my own extremely well trained and programmed intuition to figure out what sources to trust(including what I figure out on my own) when it comes to nutrition and diet. I like the fact I rarely get sick or hurt with my dietary and exercise approach! I have charted an independent course spiritually for some time, and until I find people who are on the same spiritual wavelength as me, I will have to trust myself over them as to what is best for me physically and spiritually.

People just have not been appreciating all the extremely deep and valuable stuff I have posted on varies sites on the internet. So, I must be willing to go further using myself as an experiment(as I have done most of my life)to demonstrate what a person with really effective spiritual beliefs is capable of. I will scare away those who are unable or unwilling to truly explore the value of what I have come up with spiritually over a lifetime of very intense exploration in this area.

Individuals have often had to make certain breakthroughs in this world, and to do things people believe it is not possible for an individual to do. I understand why people would not be open to someone as “differently abled” as me. But, I have no choice but to chart the course that works best for me, and what I can contribute to this world. I will listen to a lot of sources, but I must recognize that my physical/spiritual uniqueness make me have to not be very trusting of most sources of information that are available on this planet at this time as to them being good enough to apply precisely to me..

This is a previous blog post that deal with my diet and its recent evolution:

https://astrogoodwin.wordpress.com/2012/03/25/the-diet-i-use-to-help-me-handle-my-intense-physicalspiritual-exercise/

My diet is not as calorie restricted now(5/7/2016), but I did advance spiritually a lot while on a really calorie austere restricted diet and was also able to make some very difficult changes in my life’s situation.

One can feel better about oneself and stay in a better mood

What is most important is to work hard at contributing in a positive way to this world what abilities you find enable you to so. One can get joy from knowing you are contributing to making this world a better place. Working hard to be on a good healthy diet, doing intense meditative and cardiovascular exercises(safely), working to develop ones spiritual beliefs so that they better help one embrace and interface with the physical reality one exists in will all be helpful. The problems that one will face in this world and the spiritual energy that comes with it can be very challenging. One needs to constantly work at becoming better at handling the challenges of life and the challenging emotions that come with them. Life can be a spiritual battle that takes a constant effort to keep in the right mood to handle it. One can with effort do a lot to improve ones physical and spiritual well being, provided one puts in the required work. Those who face the biggest spiritual challenges well will achieve a lot of real value in this world.

Here is a helpful blog post on meditation and mind-body exercises:    https://astrogoodwin.wordpress.com/2013/08/20/my-type-of-meditation-meditative-walkingrunning-and-mind-body-exercise/

The different types of spirits

I was thinking about this when doing my really intense and difficult meditative run. I do stay quiet and concentrate really hard during a good portion of my meditative run, but I can not keep my mind quiet the whole time. Spiritual beliefs that I need to further improve on will tend to come to the surface when in the intense spiritual state the meditative run puts me in.

I will start with us, the individual spirits who play a specific unique spiritual roles in a specific locations in our vast universe. Individual spirits are the prime spiritual activists in the universe and can have a very strong spiritual impact on the part of the world they are able to influence. They must do the inner work required to build up their spiritual strength and awareness in order to improve the type of spiritual influence they have over their immediate environment and on those other spirits/people they interact with. Individual spirits can only be really effective at having a positive and healing impact on the challenging physical world that they are part of, if they themselves are really healthy physically and spiritually. One can not handle the stress of taking on a heavy spiritual workload if ones body is not really healthy. Spiritual strength comes from overcoming the resistance that only a challenging physical world can provide. One can develop ones spiritual strength and awareness by: 1. Training to be able to really intense meditative exercises(which can include meditation in all sorts of positions, slow meditative walking, slow meditative running, and meditative stretching or other slow movement exercises). Really good meditative and physical exercises should help one to handle really intense emotions of all kinds which is important because emotions power the spiritual and one needs to learn to handle all of the spectrum of emotions really well so that one can direct their energy in a positive direction. 2. Working hard at maintaining a really healthy diet designed to work really well for you with what ever nutritional supplements one finds helps. Frequent small meals and keeping one in a challenging healthy hunger range will tend to sharpen up ones spiritual energy and keep it serious. It is a really fine line between being really healthy physically and spiritually and overdoing it and harming oneself. 3. and do the really deep spiritual thinking required to find/develop better spiritual beliefs. It is hard to improve on the spiritual beliefs that already have quite a bit of influence in this world. Newer beliefs have less psychic support in this world so need to be a lot better than those that came before them. Intense and difficult meditative and physical training will sort of force one to have to improve on ones spiritual beliefs so that one can better handle the challenging spiritual/physical state they put one in.  Individual spirits always need a physical connection to the world that only a brain properly trained spiritually can provide, so between lives they must connect to kindred spirits incarnated in a physical world with a brain functioning spiritually on the level they are on in order to maintain their existence until they reincarnate again.

Next, there are the collective spirits, that come into existence and are maintained by the power of belief of the individual spirits that believe strongly in them. Every beliefs system in this world will create/maintain a collective spirit or spirits. Collective spirits that support belief systems may come in may forms/images/personalities.   The spiritual images these collective spirits appear as or support can appear as a visible image at times to the point a picture can actually be taken of them, but they still are spiritual, not physical in nature.  People can often misread things that are spiritual manifestations as physical manifestations and take on  delusional beliefs as a result.  Sometimes a beliefs system may not have a real image representing the collective spirit they have supporting them and may not even think one exists, but that does not matter, since strong beliefs automatically produce collective spirits. Science does tend to create a collective spirit representing its present beliefs. Some collective spirits are used as intermediaries to try to get a better connection with God(the universal spirit). Hypnotism will tend to connect the hypnotist and his client to the collective spirit that represents the beliefs that support their type of hypnotism and will impel the results they desire. The imagination will often do a really good job of doing what it takes to support a particular belief with the help of this collective spirit. Both channeling and hypnotism are very similar and both rely on the collective spirit that support the beliefs required for them to please those they serve. Collective spirits are only as good as the spiritual beliefs that maintain their existence and only function through individuals as well as the spiritual state of that individual allows. Both hypnotism and channeling are not perfect, and will tend to resonate only with those who support the beliefs of the collective spirit that helps to power their results. Hypnotism has been shown to create false memories and has been used to see future lives which is not possible since they have not happened yet. The future is open to being changed for the better spiritually through our actions, which is what gives us our spiritual purpose.

Then there is the universal spirit(God). Our physical/spiritual reality requires a spirit that makes it tun mechanically in a way that it can provide a good enough habitat for individual spirits like us to be able to function really well spiritually. When a spirit is needed it will exist out of this need and its existence will be supported by those who require it. Our reality could not function well with out a God that enables this functioning. Some people think that individual spirits like us are God. But, we may function with the mechanics of our reality, and we may become quite good at it, but we will never be able to perform the immense spiritual role God performs. We are limited spiritually by the specific location that we are strongly attached to by means of the body we are incarnated in. Our abilities as individual spirits are not as universal as God, but are very unique and specific to our individual role we have. No one person(individual spirit)can see the whole picture spiritually well enough to become God, because of our need to see the specific individual picture that helps us perform our specific role in the specific area we are located and in the specific area of expertise our existence in a physical world and time demands from us. As we train really hard spiritually-physically and increase our ability to handle a heavier dose of reality and the intense emotions that come with it, we will be able to develop a stronger connection with God.

In astrology, the Moon represents the inner individual spirit, Neptune represents the outer individual group spirit, and the Galactic Center(universal spirit) represents God.

The individual spirit does not contain a perfect spiritual source within.

I strongly disagree with the spiritual belief that tends to be quite dominant in some spiritual circles that a perfect spiritual source is available within oneself spiritually that can be tapped so as to magically come up with the spiritual truth or used to help one reach a part of oneself that is already extremely advanced spiritually. Some people automatically believe that they have within themselves a “higher self”, or “divine self”. People will often believe their heart or intuition can not lead them in the wrong direction. That somehow they automatically have within them perfect spiritual radar that will only direct them in the best direction for them spiritually. But, anyone that has a realistic spiritual connection with this physical reality we exist in will find that people’s intuition can often is quite wrong and their heart can often lead them into harmful circumstance and relationships.

I do not feel that we have a lot of people who are that effective spiritually on the planet Earth, and that this results in spiritual/physical conditions existing here that are far from ideal. We have so many serious problems in this world that are rooted very strongly in the spiritual inadequacies of the spirits incarnated here. The news is full of examples of human beings acting really badly spiritually. As a planet advances in its technology, it needs its inhabitants to also advance further spiritually, in order to handle the impact of this technology and direct it in a positive way, so as to make life on this planet even better/healthier. In more primitive/simple times, less spiritual maturity/competence was required in order to handle the issues that they faced.

It is hard to improve on the spiritual beliefs originating in the past that dominate this planet, if people feel no need to improve on their spiritual beliefs/programming. If one believes that a perfect spiritual self is already within oneself, why would one be motivated to improve on ones spiritual beliefs/programming? Why would one do the hard spiritual training, deep spiritual thinking, and experimentation(trial and error) required to improve ones spiritual beliefs so as to improve the spiritual state/shape one is in.

A lot of people in this world are attracted to spiritual permissiveness and instant gratification. They are not much interested in developing higher spiritual standards with all the time and work required in order to acquire these standards and the dealing with the heavier responsibilities that come with them. It is so much easier to believe that all beliefs are okay for those who believe in them. One can not have high spiritual standards, if one tolerates low spiritual standards and the spiritual beliefs that create them.

It is not easy to improve the spiritual state one is in, so as improve how one is able to function in this world. Ones intuition(spiritual radar)can be improved as one develops a better understanding of how the spiritual works and reprograms ones spirit and subconscious mind with spiritual beliefs more in tune spiritually with reality. This physical reality that God(the universal spirit)provides us with can work very much to our benefit, provided we make the effort to gain a stronger spiritual connection to it. The physical provides resistance and challenges us. Only a physical world can really test how well our spiritual beliefs will hold up and help us perform when really tested. Really good spiritual belief will help one to tune into this physical world really well spiritually, and will help us develop a lot stronger physical-spiritual connection.

It takes a lot of spiritual discipline/character to advance further spiritually. It is hard work to do the deep spiritual thinking required in order to be able to acquire/develop more advanced spiritual beliefs that will be more effective in helping one hang in there spiritually, and deal with the really tough challenges of our times. So many of the popular spiritual beliefs diminish the importance of this physical reality to our spirit and believe the spirit can escape from it temporarily or permanently in the future. A lot of spiritual beliefs have a drug like effect that makes one feel good by helping one disconnect from this physical reality we exist in and the heavy responsibilities that come with it. One does not get healthier from escaping from this reality, one gets healthier though conditioning oneself physically and spiritually to be able to handle any challenges that it can provide. Trying to escape from this world spiritually will make one weaker not stronger spiritually. One will feel better when one is healthier physically and spiritually and able to handle a lot, and able to contribute what ones has to offer to this world. One will feel really good about oneself as a result of helping to make this world a better place.

Part of ones spiritual beliefs need to include the importance of the type of spiritual training that improves ones physical-spiritual connection and so as to be able to handle a heavier dose of reality. Meditative exercises, such as meditative walking and running can be done is such a way that they are very difficult to do both physically and spiritually(emotionally). I have a blog on meditative walking and running on this site. Cardiovascular exercise can help one to gain the physical health required to be able to handle the stress that taking on a lot spiritually can create on the physical body. Stretching and some weightlifting can help one to exercise really hard with less injuries. One can not push oneself really hard physically and spiritually if one does not have a diet(with nutritional supplements)that is good enough to help one do them. Losing excess weigh can help one to get healthier physically and spiritually. Being hungry some of the time help one to become sharper spiritually. One can learn to handle a safe range of hunger so that one will get tougher and sharper spiritually. Being overly indulgent is not healthy for you both physically and spiritually. If one is strong and aware spiritually one should be able to have a positive spiritual impact on ones physical body and the physical world one exists in.

Helping to Heal others through Spiritual Means

When it comes to being effective at using spiritual means to help in healing others,it is so important to be really good at doing all that it takes to heal oneself and get oneself into a very healthy physical/spiritual state. That is because one can not send spiritual energy to others that one does not yourself have and apply to yourself. Also, it is important to be able to give guidance as to how someone can improve their lifestyle/habits so that they can move in an healthier direction and not be as likely to get sick. It is not easy to advice people on diet, exercise, and spiritual practices that will help them become healthier, because everyone is different and one needs to have broad knowledge in this area in order to offer helpful suggestions to them.

I tend to be limited to giving to the internet at this time when it comes to trying to reach people spiritually with what I have to offer. I have had some good results, but still feel direct interaction with others is preferable and I want to have more of that in the future. But, the internet can provide really good practice and I have found that I can be helpful to people who are struggling with a variety of really strong spiritual/physical challenges even though my connection with them is limited to the internet. I would not assume that someone would not learn a lot through the internet. I feel some people may merit really advanced placement in a spiritual healing course due to their past training whether from the internet or independent study.

Often when someone joins a new religion or spiritual group, it is assumed they do not have have any valuable past spiritual experience to offer. So often tribal energy dominates religious and spiritual organizations. Often people can have a lot of spiritual understanding, but not be familiar with the unique language used by a religious/spiritual organization/group. I admit that I tend not to fit in well with traditional type religious/spiritual organizations and tend to do better with organizations that use simpler language and focus more on being creative and practical in how they seek to gain results

Why does God let bad things happen?

We are responsible for the spiritual climate that exists(not God) here on this Earth. If we do not handle sex very well on this planet, rape and other forms of sexual abuse will occur, along with all kind of other harmful consequences resulting from acting irresponsibly in this area. We live in a violent world, since we are not willing to make the strong effort required to try to understand and get along with others who see this world from a different perspective from us. Anger often is misdirected leading to all kinds of harmful/destructive results in this world. Anger can be directed in a constructive way toward improving the spiritual conditions that exist on this planet, but so often it comes out in irrational and destructive way that can lead to people victimizing others.

It is so easy to get in serious trouble in this world with so many people not being that much in control of their behavior and not good at directing themselves emotionally/spiritually in a positive way. We can train ourselves to become stronger and more aware spiritually(get a stronger spiritual connection with reality and God)through:

1. Working to improve ones spiritual beliefs so they help us to better handle the challenging physical reality we exist in.

2. Keeping up on all the serious issues and problems that exist in this world and trying to do ones part to contribute what one can to make this world a better place.

3. Focus on using and improving ones spiritual radar/intuition so as to be able to better sense when one safety is in danger from other people or from circumstances. One can not sense danger if one is not well informed as to all of the likely danger one could face in a given situation or circumstance.

4. Improving ones diet and getting enough quality physical exercise so that one will be really healthy, since being healthy will help one handle a lot more of the challenges of life more effectively and also help one to handle the spiritual/emotional stress that comes from taking on the really strong spiritual challenges life presents us with.

5. Use effective meditative techniques including meditative movement exercises that when done intensely enough put one in very difficult spiritual/emotional states, so that one can learn to better handle such states and the emotions that come with them. One can train oneself to handle all emotions in a positive/constructive way.  I have a wordpress post on meditative/mind body exercises.

The reality that God(the universal spirit) maintains for us is set up to serve us very well, provided we do the required work to become effective at dealing with its challenges. These challenges can bring out the most in us spiritually and test how well our spiritual beliefs really work. We can become a lot more capable spiritually on this planet and can improve the spiritual climate that exists here. This Earth is our spiritual responsibility. God will help, provided we do our very vital part.

Spiritual specialization and the need to constantly work at it!

I do not believe there are any sources of perfect spiritual information.   That we need to constantly work to get a better grip on what is true spiritually using effective spiritual training(including meditative techniques. intensely deep thinking, diet, and aerobic exercise).  I believe the spiritual is the area that helps one learn to handle emotions really well, so that one can use any emotion in a positive way.  If one can properly handle ones emotions, one can act in a way that will contribute positively to ones well being and to the well being of the world around you.

PSYCHOLOGY has a spiritual focus and is not a perfect source of spiritual information.   It is sort of a secular religion.  No religion is perfect or has perfect spiritual information.  Channeling, and hypnosis will not give one perfect information on the spiritual.  The quality/value/accuracy of spiritual information gotten through a person acting as a medium will be limited by the level of spiritual development of that person.   We can develop very effective spiritual tools that can help one to get a better grip on what is true spiritually, but will never get a perfect grip.  One has to really put forth a constant effort in order to maintain and improve on ones grip on what is true spiritually.

I am very much into the physical-spiritual connection and its value in helping one function better in this challenging and stressful physical world/reality we exist in.   I am not into and spiritual beliefs that do not help one to function really well spiritually in this current physical reality we are now in.  I believe there is a certain body type that works best for a spiritual specialist.  The world needs people that are very capable in many different fields in order for things to function well here.  I believe differing body types can function well in differing fields of expertise.   But, I do feel it is important to be healthy in whatever body type one possesses in order to get the most out of oneself.   Excessive stomach fat has been found to be unhealthy.

Until the age of 22 when I joined the Navy, I was always very lean.  My weight was such that by today’s standards I would have been considered as anorexic.  I think my lean body type helped me to tune into and develop an early interest in the spiritual.   Often in the past religious people have lived a lean austere life style in order to help them improve their spiritual focus.   They may not have done this in the healthiest way, but they did not have all the knowledge we have today about nutrition.   One does need a really strong spiritual connection with the physical world in order to be able to function really well spiritually here.   A spiritual specialist needs to be able to handle the roughest spiritual/emotional states this physical world can challenge them with. They need a body that can handle the intense stress that can come from being exposed to the roughest emotional/psychological/spiritual states that this challenging physical world can create.  One can not really be helpful spiritually to someone if one is not be able to handle being in the spiritual/emotional state the other person is struggling with.   A spiritual specialist needs to be able to handle difficult emotional/spiritual states a lot better than those they are trying to help.  It takes a really well conditioned body to help a spirit handle the stress that comes with connecting so strongly psychically with people who are in extremely challenging emotional states.

Being in great cardiovascular shape I believe gives the body a lot of “inner fitness” which can help one to be able to handle stress a lot better.  Having less body fat I believe tends to expose the body more to the spiritual energy around you, sort of removing an insulating barrier.   It takes a lot of spiritual strength to get lean while not using dietary methods that take away hunger.   I feel when one takes measures to not feel hunger, one tends to tune oneself out spiritually.   I feel one can gain a lot of spiritual strength by becoming good at dealing with physical discomfort and hunger.  Not doing what some people do when they use certain diets and drugs to disconnect or insulate themselves from the spiritual and hunger.   One should feel really challenging hunger if one is exercising intensely while eating frequent healthy meals that restrict your daily calories enough.  Calorie restriction is used by some these days as a life extension technique. One should exercise very intensely and carefully and not excessively.   One does not have to exercise very long per exercise session in order to to gain a lot of cardiovascular fitness.  Intense short duration exercise can be very effective.   It can take quite a long time to build up the body’s ability to handle really intense cardiovascular exercise.   The same is true when it comes to handling meditative exercises.  I have a facebook note on meditative/mind-body exercises.

The body type I have is as light as a top long distance runner, even though I do not run more than 2 miles(4 days a week) with one mile done hard and the second mile done as a slow meditative one.  The other 3 days of the week, I do do 17 minutes of non-stop overhead 2-handed modified dumbbell swings starting out with 50 40 lb ones immediately followed by as many 20 lb ones as I can do.  I also do stretching before I run and before and after I do my dumbbell swings.  I do do crunches as a warm up before I stretch and stretch very carefully so as not to hurt myself.  I do a brief warm up using the 20 lb dumbbell while exercising various muscles a few times.   I now weigh about 130 pounds at 5 feet 10 inches tall.

The diet I use to help me handle my intense physical/spiritual exercise!

Diet seems to be a really controversial subject. Some people are into raw foods. Some believe in the cave man diet. Some think we all should become vegans. Some avoid all genetically engineered foods. Some are into organic food. It can be expensive to be on certain diets that are so particular. But, we all are different and have different biological vulnerabilities.  This diet has evolved as time went on and was higher in protein at times than I would recommend!  It is important to do some good research and self experimentation in order to find a healthy diet that works for you!  Edited 9/26/20

My most recent diet is Vegan with my main staple being oatmeal mostly in the form of quick oats that since they are partially cooked in processing I  can eat raw.  I do add some salt to it.  I have been eating them with canned peas. Both are very healthy especially when I add a good multivitamin daily.  I have eaten peanuts at times during those 2 years.  Fresh cooked greens would work better if readily available! I eat frequent small meals. My diet does work for me enabling me to handle my very extremely physical/spiritual training program.  I have been on this program for the last 2 years

I have to be frugal and I do not fear scientific innovation when it comes to food and nutrition, provided it was done with reasonably good intent(an intuitive value judgement) and has some history(not extremely new). I do use vitamin supplements, but do not use the expensive more natural ones. My calorie restricted vegan low fat diet works well for me and my hard training, but would probably be too harsh for a lot of people.  I do not eat any junk food or add any spices(extra flavoring) to my food.

This is my past diet history along with my thoughts at the time:

3/16/14: I eat 6 small meals a day about 3 hours apart.  My diet includes vegetables(mostly cooked greens), fruit, whey protein, one tablespoon refrigerated canola or soy oil(meals 1&5 only-not used in cooking-do not fry food), salt(need some to feel okay), oatmeal/brown rice, and a lot of vitamin and mineral supplements.  I take Vitamin C(250-500 mg) with 4 of my meals.  I take a multi-vitamin mineral tablet and B-complex tablet twice a day with meals 1 and 5.    I make sure I get plenty of calcium/magnesium in either my multi-vitamin-mineral tablet or in other added tablets.  I am lately on a very high protein diet – about 140 grams of protein a day.  I can replace rice or oatmeal with fruit.

I did a lot of reading the last 2 days on the subject regarding eating before and after exercise. I did learn a lot. But, I found no need to change the unique approach that I feel works so very well for me. I just figured out why it may be working well for me. I do believe that we all have to figure out what approach works well for us. I do not seem to have any bad days when I exercise, they all are very rough and very similar. I do keep trying to push harder every time.

I do eat a lot of(whey) protein in my 6 small meals(3 hours apart) with one of these meals being shortly after exercising. When I work out in the morning without breakfast, I will not have a lot of glycogen stored in my body, since(I read) the body uses up a lot while one sleeps. This will affect how long I last when doing my intense exercises. I do feel I last long enough to have a lot of positive impact. Often when you subject your body to more challenging conditions(heat and altitude for example) you gain results from doing this. I believe one can train ones body to burn fat more efficiently(thus needing less glycogen in your fuel mix)and also train the body to store more glycogen. One will then find that when you train under more ideal conditions(with more available glycogen-like after carbo-loading), one will be able to last so much longer.

I have read about different people doing quite well doing different things. It can takes a while for the body to adjust to a quite different program. Science often does not take this enough into account as well as other variables. In the past body builders use to believe in training on an empty stomach. Arnold Schwarzenegger did quite well doing this. I read about a person doing quite well exercise-wise on a very low carb diet. We all are different(genetically) and have different goals. So we have to do our own research and figure out what approach works best for us.

Update 8/13/14:  I now have been eating a 7th meals at 2:00 AM on mornings(4:30 AM Monday-Wednesday-Friday)  I do my really intense 2 handed overhead non-stop (modified)dumbbell swing exercise.  This acts a little like carbo loading and allows me to last longer.  I am now able to last 15 minutes non-stop swings, doing first fifty 40 lb swings followed immediately by as many 20 lb swings as i can safely do.   I forgot to mention that I use Lite salt(contains sodium and potassium) a lot to provide the electrolytes I need to exercise really hard and to help hydrate myself adequately especially when it is hot.

Updated 3/31/15:  I have cut my the amount of protein in my diet down quite a bit to around 90 grams a day.   Updated:  May 2015 lowered protein to about 75 grams a day mostly from whey protein.

I do have to focus a lot on my diet in order to stay lean and fit. My body can easily gain weight due to all the stress in my life. I have had periods in which I have had quite a bit more body fat. The main thing is to focus on eating healthier and eating the amount of food that makes you function at your best. Different diets and body types work better for different people. Everyone is different! Addictive type foods can readily sabotage a diet. I do not eat any junk food, but have not done so for a very long time. Just like exercise, diet requires a lot of effort over a long period of time to get good at it. The body has to adjust to any changes one makes in regard to diet and exercise. So one usually does best to make incremental changes and allow the body time to adjust. If you try to do too much too fast, your body and spirit can become overwhelmed and cause you to have a setback. Also, if you do have a setback and lose control of ones diet, one should not give up, but just go right back on your diet with what ever adjustments you can figure out will help make it work better in the future. One should not allow one bad day destroy your diet. Nothing works perfectly. One will have some setbacks, but one just has to try to maintain a constant effort over time.

Updated 7/7/15:  I have been on an austere calorie restricted diet(some people use this type diet to increase their longevity)which along with very intense meditative and cardio exercises is helping me develop an ascetic body type that works really well for spiritual strength and awareness.  I now weight 124 lbs at 5’10”.

8/11/15:  I eat 6-7 meals(usually a meal every 3 hours) a day. I eat really small portions at the beginning of the day and try to build up as much hunger as I can. I then use meditative walking to help me better handle this hunger. I find battling hunger a really effective and challenging spiritual exercise. I do tend to push the edge a lot physically and spiritually and have been doing this for a very long time, so am quite good at doing it safely. I do eat a little more the last 2 meals of the day(6PM&9PM)so that I will have some energy for my 4 AM exercise routine. At 2 AM a couple of hours before I do my dumbbell swing routine(3 days a week) I eat an extra meal/snack of salted oatmeal to give me the extra energy this exercise requires.

8/15/15:  I had to increase my daily calories in my diet and eat a 7th meal of salted oatmeal every night. My body made it clear to me that I could no longer feed off of my remaining body fat, which is very little! Maintaining my current body type will be as hard as it was to get there. Being a spiritual pioneer, it takes me a little while to figure out how to mask adjustments when a transition is required. Have to figure things out on my own since have no really good sources/references to use to guide me. But, after a few days of experimentation I seem to have made the required adjustments to my diet. I do do things to the extreme, but we live in an age where we need to be able to handle really extreme situations. We do live in the “Atomic Age” where we have to have experts who are able to handle situations in which the “margin of error” is extremely small and the consequences of mistakes can be extreme!  I now weight about 120 lbs at 5′ 10″.

6/29/16:  I have eliminated whey protein from my diet, so that I am now getting most of my protein from oatmeal.  I have been using quick oats and eating them raw(they are cooked to some degree in the process that creates them before packaged and sold).  I have been on this diet for a while and it has been working well with my training routine.  I had weighed as much as 150 and have already lost 5 lbs on it.  It seems to be enhancing my spiritual sensitivity a little more.  So my diet is now Vegan.  But, I do not exaggerate the spiritual benefits of being a Vegan like a lot of people seem to do.  I try not to be overly self-righteous!

6/25/17:  I am cutting my calories by a quarter by having meals every 4 hours instead of 3(6 meals done around the clock). WHY am I doing this: because I am not reaching people well enough with my fantastic spiritual ideas and techniques. So I need to intensify my stoicism, which I have done in the past with a sort of hunger training. I need to bring really strong(spiritual) survival energy to this world. I do not fool around in a world that is in denial about how backwards it is spiritually! I weigh around 138 lbs at 5’10” but am extremely fit physically and spiritually! I am a spiritual athlete which is quite different from a physical athlete. A spiritual athlete has a body conditioned to handle really strong emotions and the physical stress that comes with it!

7/16/17  Cut down to 5 meals(3AM, 8AM,12PM.5PM&10PM.)

8/1/17  I am reducing my calories even further since my weight has stayed even for about a week at between 130 and 131 lbs. My metabolism has obviously quickly adjusted most likely as a result of how my meditative exercises help my body to quickly adjust to a slower metabolism. I feel I am still not intense enough, since I am not yet getting the support I really need for the fantastic spiritual theories and techniques I have developed! One less meal(4) and around 1300 calories. I started yesterday and already feel I can handle it. This diet may be temporary, I may go back to 1600 calories, I may not. All I want is to keep getting stronger spiritually and so far that is happening.   I have done similar cycling before. It helps makes my spiritual energy sharper and more intense! I can handle spiritual states others are unable to handle and the body has a lot of impact on what type of spiritual state you are able to maintain. I need really strong survival type spiritual energy and I need to be very much on the edge or fine line that can make that happen. I need to be in an extreme state that is opposite from those that are so addicted to various drugs/desires that they have really tuned out this challenging reality that exists on this Earth with all of its problems rooted in the spiritual. So many people have their spiritual perspective distorted or inadequate and have no idea how tuned out they are spiritually as compared to what is required by the demands of these times!  I continue to take the same amount of vitamin and mineral supplements:    I take a multivitamin-mineral tablet and 500 milligrams Vitamin C at my 6 AM meal,  take a calcium-magnesium-zinc(1/3 daily value) at 12 AM and PM meal with 500 milligrams vitamin C, and I take a B complex vitamin tablet and 500 milligram Vitamin C at 6 PM meal.

8/16/17  Went back to 5 meals(1600 calories)with about 50 gm protein on 8/4/17(4 meals 1300 calories lasted only 4 days).  I has a muscle spasm in my lower back that led to a minor injury and threatened my training program so I decided that 1300 calories with about 40 gm protein was too hard on my body.  1600 calories is rough, but it is working well!  It may be a diet that can last long term, since I am not losing weight on it!

9/19/17  Back at 6 meals a day(1900 calories)  weigh 124 at 5’10’, but am really healthy physically and spiritually with spiritual ascetic body type!

10/13/17  Still on same program, but will add an extra meal when I feel I need one to keep my energy up!  My weight is staying even and I still am able to do my extremely intense spiritual exercise routine.  I do a really intense 3/4 of a mile meditative run every other day and a 6 minute nonstop modified meditative 2 handed 20 lb dumbbell swing exercise the days I do not run!  Here is a link to my intense dumbbell swing exercise:
