Why does God let bad things happen?

We are responsible for the spiritual climate that exists(not God) here on this Earth. If we do not handle sex very well on this planet, rape and other forms of sexual abuse will occur, along with all kind of other harmful consequences resulting from acting irresponsibly in this area. We live in a violent world, since we are not willing to make the strong effort required to try to understand and get along with others who see this world from a different perspective from us. Anger often is misdirected leading to all kinds of harmful/destructive results in this world. Anger can be directed in a constructive way toward improving the spiritual conditions that exist on this planet, but so often it comes out in irrational and destructive way that can lead to people victimizing others.

It is so easy to get in serious trouble in this world with so many people not being that much in control of their behavior and not good at directing themselves emotionally/spiritually in a positive way. We can train ourselves to become stronger and more aware spiritually(get a stronger spiritual connection with reality and God)through:

1. Working to improve ones spiritual beliefs so they help us to better handle the challenging physical reality we exist in.

2. Keeping up on all the serious issues and problems that exist in this world and trying to do ones part to contribute what one can to make this world a better place.

3. Focus on using and improving ones spiritual radar/intuition so as to be able to better sense when one safety is in danger from other people or from circumstances. One can not sense danger if one is not well informed as to all of the likely danger one could face in a given situation or circumstance.

4. Improving ones diet and getting enough quality physical exercise so that one will be really healthy, since being healthy will help one handle a lot more of the challenges of life more effectively and also help one to handle the spiritual/emotional stress that comes from taking on the really strong spiritual challenges life presents us with.

5. Use effective meditative techniques including meditative movement exercises that when done intensely enough put one in very difficult spiritual/emotional states, so that one can learn to better handle such states and the emotions that come with them. One can train oneself to handle all emotions in a positive/constructive way.  I have a wordpress post on meditative/mind body exercises.

The reality that God(the universal spirit) maintains for us is set up to serve us very well, provided we do the required work to become effective at dealing with its challenges. These challenges can bring out the most in us spiritually and test how well our spiritual beliefs really work. We can become a lot more capable spiritually on this planet and can improve the spiritual climate that exists here. This Earth is our spiritual responsibility. God will help, provided we do our very vital part.

Science vs Spiritual

We live in an age overly dominated by science and materialism. At this time science tends to be quite unified unlike religion(the spiritual)which now tends to be tribal in nature. We need to advance a lot further in the spiritual direction and become less divisive in this area. Spiritual divisiveness is leading to a lot of conflict in this world. If we got our act together spiritually and became more effective in this area, science would be forced to not discount the value of the spiritual so much. I tend to challenge science and the fields that claim to be based on science to some degree when they tend to devalue the importance of the spiritual and the role the spirit plays in regard to helping us behave sanely and in a healthy manner in this world.

Psychology is spiritual and people in this field need to be trained to be more capable in the spiritual area. Medicine has a very strong spiritual component which plays a very strong role in getting people to get on a good diet and exercise program so as to become really healthy. Meditative techniques can help one to heal oneself and become healthier. Effective spiritual beliefs play a strong role in helping one gain a stronger grip on reality, so that one will be motivated to act in a way that will make one healthier and more effective in this challenging physical world we exist in.

Spiritual specialization and the need to constantly work at it!

I do not believe there are any sources of perfect spiritual information.   That we need to constantly work to get a better grip on what is true spiritually using effective spiritual training(including meditative techniques. intensely deep thinking, diet, and aerobic exercise).  I believe the spiritual is the area that helps one learn to handle emotions really well, so that one can use any emotion in a positive way.  If one can properly handle ones emotions, one can act in a way that will contribute positively to ones well being and to the well being of the world around you.

PSYCHOLOGY has a spiritual focus and is not a perfect source of spiritual information.   It is sort of a secular religion.  No religion is perfect or has perfect spiritual information.  Channeling, and hypnosis will not give one perfect information on the spiritual.  The quality/value/accuracy of spiritual information gotten through a person acting as a medium will be limited by the level of spiritual development of that person.   We can develop very effective spiritual tools that can help one to get a better grip on what is true spiritually, but will never get a perfect grip.  One has to really put forth a constant effort in order to maintain and improve on ones grip on what is true spiritually.

I am very much into the physical-spiritual connection and its value in helping one function better in this challenging and stressful physical world/reality we exist in.   I am not into and spiritual beliefs that do not help one to function really well spiritually in this current physical reality we are now in.  I believe there is a certain body type that works best for a spiritual specialist.  The world needs people that are very capable in many different fields in order for things to function well here.  I believe differing body types can function well in differing fields of expertise.   But, I do feel it is important to be healthy in whatever body type one possesses in order to get the most out of oneself.   Excessive stomach fat has been found to be unhealthy.

Until the age of 22 when I joined the Navy, I was always very lean.  My weight was such that by today’s standards I would have been considered as anorexic.  I think my lean body type helped me to tune into and develop an early interest in the spiritual.   Often in the past religious people have lived a lean austere life style in order to help them improve their spiritual focus.   They may not have done this in the healthiest way, but they did not have all the knowledge we have today about nutrition.   One does need a really strong spiritual connection with the physical world in order to be able to function really well spiritually here.   A spiritual specialist needs to be able to handle the roughest spiritual/emotional states this physical world can challenge them with. They need a body that can handle the intense stress that can come from being exposed to the roughest emotional/psychological/spiritual states that this challenging physical world can create.  One can not really be helpful spiritually to someone if one is not be able to handle being in the spiritual/emotional state the other person is struggling with.   A spiritual specialist needs to be able to handle difficult emotional/spiritual states a lot better than those they are trying to help.  It takes a really well conditioned body to help a spirit handle the stress that comes with connecting so strongly psychically with people who are in extremely challenging emotional states.

Being in great cardiovascular shape I believe gives the body a lot of “inner fitness” which can help one to be able to handle stress a lot better.  Having less body fat I believe tends to expose the body more to the spiritual energy around you, sort of removing an insulating barrier.   It takes a lot of spiritual strength to get lean while not using dietary methods that take away hunger.   I feel when one takes measures to not feel hunger, one tends to tune oneself out spiritually.   I feel one can gain a lot of spiritual strength by becoming good at dealing with physical discomfort and hunger.  Not doing what some people do when they use certain diets and drugs to disconnect or insulate themselves from the spiritual and hunger.   One should feel really challenging hunger if one is exercising intensely while eating frequent healthy meals that restrict your daily calories enough.  Calorie restriction is used by some these days as a life extension technique. One should exercise very intensely and carefully and not excessively.   One does not have to exercise very long per exercise session in order to to gain a lot of cardiovascular fitness.  Intense short duration exercise can be very effective.   It can take quite a long time to build up the body’s ability to handle really intense cardiovascular exercise.   The same is true when it comes to handling meditative exercises.  I have a facebook note on meditative/mind-body exercises.

The body type I have is as light as a top long distance runner, even though I do not run more than 2 miles(4 days a week) with one mile done hard and the second mile done as a slow meditative one.  The other 3 days of the week, I do do 17 minutes of non-stop overhead 2-handed modified dumbbell swings starting out with 50 40 lb ones immediately followed by as many 20 lb ones as I can do.  I also do stretching before I run and before and after I do my dumbbell swings.  I do do crunches as a warm up before I stretch and stretch very carefully so as not to hurt myself.  I do a brief warm up using the 20 lb dumbbell while exercising various muscles a few times.   I now weigh about 130 pounds at 5 feet 10 inches tall.

About me and the value of limitations

THIS IS MY END OF A DISCUSSION I HAD IN A FACEBOOK GROUP, SO IT MAY HAVE REDUNDENCY IN IT!  YOU CAN SKIM OVER THE REDUNDENT PARTS.  This issue hits me on an extremely deep and personal level.  I am very serious in the spiritual area and this is one of the areas that I take the most seriously and feel is extremely important to understand if we are to advance further spiritually on this planet!

 1.  Having limitations helps one to better channel ones energy in the areas one is good at. People are all unique to some degree with some areas they are limited to various degrees, and with other areas they are less limited in. We all have to make the most of what we have to work with. The limitations I have in the area of finer motor skills and visual memory are not just products of my imagination.

But, it is because I have such limitations that I am sensitive to others who also have to deal with limitations in a world that often makes things really difficult for people with very unique abilities and limitations. Hard work can help one make the most of what one has to work with. One has to be practical and not just keep hitting ones head against a wall. People just have to make the most of what unique abilities they have and be aware that in some areas they will never be that capable at least in this lifetime. Some people can not handle that some people are just better in certain areas than others.

2. Those who really deal with and are constantly challenged with really strong limitations do know how these limitations stay pretty much the same know matter how hard you push up against them. I do not believe anyone that lost a leg ever grew one back. I do not know of anyone who as capable as me of pushing their limits. I have made it a point over a lifetime of effort to try to push myself harder than anyone else would be able to tolerate. People who really push their limits really can understand how certain limits are not worth putting a lot of extra effort challenging. It is so important to focus on what one is good at, than focusing overly on areas that progress is very slow or does not happen at all.

We are not the universe. We can become better connected with the universe/reality if we put in the effort to do so. I have a lot of problems with the overly simplistic beliefs that tend to circulate a lot on facebook and the internet. People who are really challenged a lot in this world spiritually will come to the realization how complicated the reality we exist in is spiritually. I do get along well with people who have strong limitations that give them extra insight into how difficult and complicated life is.

3. I am really good in the spiritual area because of my limitations in other areas. Individual differences are very important if we are to have anyone to really excel in any particular area. Limitations are a valuable part of life. It is just a shame that we live in such a backward planet spiritually that we are so insensitive to the value of individual differences. Facebook has given me serious problems because of my limitations in the visual area, and I am really justified at being angry at their insensitivity toward me. Limitations are a positive thing. I will fight hard to represent the value of the physical world we live in with the limitations and challenges its presents. I tend to want to stay clear of people who are insensitive to the value of differences and limitations.

4. I have very good reason for believing what I do, I have a very strong grip on reality and must in order to keep surviving under conditions that keep becoming more challenging for me. It is obvious a lot of people do not value the type of spiritual expertise I have to offer to this world due to my really hard spiritual work that is the result of my limitations in other areas. We all can not do anything, we are all limited in what we are able to excel in. We need people to focus on the areas they can excel in and to be very aware of their limitations in other areas that they are not as capable in. We will not be able to improve the backward state this planet is in spiritually if we do not have people working really hard to become good in the area they are most capable. We all need to become better spiritually at getting the most out of ourselves so we can contribute to this world in the way we best can!.

5. I am sort of an extreme case. So often people have spiritual beliefs that do not deal very effectively with really challenging conditions and with people/spirits that are extremely hard to pigeonhole.

6.  I feel the word “weakness” can have a negative connotation. I feel people can be quite good in some areas and quite limited in other areas. I may be “weak” in certain areas, but that is what helps me to focus more at what I am really good at. A machine can be good at doing a specific think and not good at doing something it was not designed to do. It is my limited visual memory that helps me to see things on a very basic mechanical level spiritually. I am good visually on a very basic level. I just do not have the type of visual abilities to make me very capable in regular occupations that tend to demand one be able to visualize ones role and required tasks. I find can be quite hard for me to explain this to people who have normal or even really advanced visual capabilities and memory.

Being limited in one area actually helps me to be more capable in another area. I am a very specialized spirit. Specialized spirits will often be really good in one area, and not very good in a lot of other areas. Having too many abilities can actually make it hard to focus on one specific area and become really good at it. Some people have more of a normal range of abilities and thus fit more easily into society. Some people do not do very well at being normal, and must make quite an effort to stand out from the masses so that their unique abilities will be seen.. I lot of trial and error comes with trying to break new ground spiritually. I often had to make very quick changes in course in order to keep from getting into serious trouble as a result of the mistakes I have made, but because my mind is limited in its capabilities and focus, I am really good at this. Not having the distractions that a less limited visual memory world create has a lot to do with why I am able to get away with things spiritually others would not be able to.

Not everyone needs to be spiritual specialist.  It is hard to become really good in any vocational field.  This world needs people with skills/capabilities in all the vocational fields that help this world to function really well.  Everyone does well to know enough spiritually to get the most out of themselves in the area they are most able to contribute something of value to this world.

7.  People can specialize in different ways in the spiritual area. Visual people can be spiritual specialists, provided they are able to mobilize a lot of their focus in this area. I have to be very creative in order to compensate for my limited visual memory. This creativity works well in the spiritual area. Basic spiritual mechanics which is where my focus is does not require a lot of visual memory. There are a lot of areas related to the spiritual that others are more capable than me in. But, one has to understand basic spiritual mechanics well in order to have a really good spiritual foundation to support any other special spiritual capabilities.

Facebook may make access to my account too difficult!!

Facebook forced me again today to have to quess which images goes with which friends today in order for me to regain access to my account(I only changed my internet service-I use google chrome).  They gave me a useless alternative of giving them the last 5 numbers of my nonexistent drivers license.  I have a limited visual memory so I really hate struggling to guess the correct answers.   Last time they did this I was lock out for quite some time while having to keep guessing on images until I got lucky.  I could have giving them a nonexistent cell phone number as an alternative to guessing images. This time I got lucky right away, but really did concentrate really hard and focused on using a process of elimination of the friends they listed to choose from.   I have tried to reach facebook with my complaints, but I doubt I reach them in any meaningful way.  They just are too caught up in the “one size fits all” mentality that is so prevalent in our society that tend to limit REASONABLE options for those who are different, thus DISCRIMINATING against them.  Facebook could so easily just allow people the option to choose there own security questions and answers giving them more control over their own account security!  NO OTHER SITE I AM ON HAS CAUSE ME A SIMILAR PROBLEM!

I am on a number of sites on the internet including twitter and google+.   One can reach me through those other sites(just google “astrogoodwin” my internet name)if I happen to all of a sudden disappear from facebook.

Where I am coming from spiritually

My main focus is in being innovative in the spiritual area. I am a spiritual independent, free to find/develop the best spiritual beliefs and training techniques possible. I understand that different people use differing means to gain a better connection with the universal spirit(God)and thus to reality. There exists a degree of spiritual oneness that helps to make our reality work really well, some people may not see this spirit of oneness as God. I feel we can often get too caught up in semantics and labels.

This physical reality we exist in can really test how good our spiritual beliefs really are at helping us perform under pressure. I do not believe God(the universal spirit) endorses any particular religion. One can not perform really well spiritually without a very good connection with God and reality. Individual spirits like us play a big role in creating the spiritual conditions that exist in this world. It is up to us to improve the spiritual conditions within ourselves and in the world around us. God will help provided we do the required work to earn the results.

The Spiritual Value of Fear

Fear is so very valuable if you have the strength of spiritual character required to handle it well! One needs to be able to be really vigilant in this very precarious world we live in. One does not want to become a victim of some sort, due to ones carelessness or lack of vigilance. Accidents can so easily happen if one becomes too fearless/careless. There are all sorts of natural disasters that one should be prepared for, if one lives in an area prone to them. Fear, certainly motivates one to be prepared.

We have so many really spiritually messed up characters that one does not want to be victimized by. One needs to be afraid of becoming vulnerable to them, and have ones spiritual radar working well so one can sense when one of them might be approaching and you may be vulnerable to them. One can do a lot to make sure one does not do anything to make oneself vulnerable and has the means to protect oneself from harm.

One can use fear to motivate oneself to do to really hard and difficult spiritual(meditative/mind-body)training(with good diet) required to become strong enough and aware enough spiritually so that one will have the spiritual radar to better sense and deal with all sorts of dangers be they from other humans or from the physical world. Also if one want to succeed a lot in this world it is important to be vigilant in taking advantage of every opportunity and avoid costly mistakes. Fear can help motivate one to have that sort of vigilance. ONE HAS TO LOVE HOW VALUABLE FEAR CAN BE!

Rest days and Exercise

Rest days from exercise can help one recover and get stronger. The people who are able to safely take few rest days often are those who have been running/exercising hard for a very long time and their body is really use to it. It is so easy to get injured if one does not listen to ones body and take a day off when one need to.

I rarely take a day off from exercise, I alternate between days of running(3 hard miles) and days doing 2-handed overhead dumbbell swing exercises(50-40 lb ones+as many 20 lb ones as I can do: now 17 minutes nonstop). But, I have pushed my limits my whole life and am use to it. These two different exercises I do focus more on different muscles. So I feel like I am having a rest day from one when I do the other. I am glad I do not run every day.

I am very very careful when I exercise and really focus on what I am doing(my technique), so I do not hurt myself and have to take days off. I do regularly stretch carefully(especially before and after doing my nonstop dumbbell swing(cardio) exercise) and do slow easy muscle movements to help certain aching muscles feel better. I find quick and careful squat and back stretches  are good to do before and after running or at any time during the day that I feel my legs or back need to be loosened up in order to feel better. I have a strict diet with nutritional supplements. Everyone is different and has to find the dietary and exercise program that works best for them.  I also do a lot of meditation and meditative walking that helps me to better tune into my body.

If you push your body too hard in order to try to get in really good shape too quickly you can easily get injured. Often people do not have enough patience to allow their body to become use to handle more of an exercise load. Until one gets into really good shape often rests days are really important in order for one to keep getting stronger at a good rate! Runner often alternate hard days with easy days. But, sometimes a rest day is better for you than an easy day!

My type of Meditation, Meditative Walking/Running, and Mind-Body Exercise

WARNING:  Intense physical-spiritual exercise is vey challenging to the body and requires time to adjust to as to intensity, duration, and frequency in order to do safely.  Check with medical doctor(hopefully spiritually aware one) and Mental Health professional  as to whether you have some medical condition that makes this unsafe to do.  Do at your own risk using your intuition to help you stay within safe limits!

All forms of meditation involve over breathing or controlled hyperventilation. This takes more carbon dioxide out of the blood in the form of carbonic acid which will make the blood more alkaline.  This will have a relaxing affect on the body and tend to slow down ones metabolism.   Hyperventilation is not healthy when taken to extremes or when out of control, but that is true with so many things.  The medical community seems to see only the negative side of hyperventilation at this time.  The medical community often just focuses on unhealthy people and have not done enough studies of  meditative practitioners that benefit from using controlled hyperventilation in their breathing techniques.  One can find articles on the internet that challenge the way the medical community view all forms of hyperventilation.  The medical community can scare people from doing what it takes to get the most benefits from meditative techniques. It is true that overdoing anything(including hyperventilation)tends to be unsafe.  This controlled hyperventilation puts one into a relaxed altered state, where one can focus on anything or envision anything that one want to have more control of or be able to handle more comfortably or in order to help heal oneself in some way.

One can meditate on really difficult emotions or hard to deal with desires. One can adjust the way you do any of the meditative/mind-body techniques I describe below and find out what works best for you. Being a little creative never hurts as long as you do it carefully so as not to hurt yourself.  With any of these meditative/mind-body exercises one can breath through ones mouth if it makes it easier.  I find breathing through the mouth work well for me for my more vigorous meditative exercises.  I breath mostly through my nose when doing my slower meditative running, meditative walking and more stationary meditative exercises.

The meditative exercises here are not directed toward making one an athlete, but will rev up ones nervous system. The focus on overbreathing will slow the body down similar to stationary meditation, so one will not be able to do them very fast. As one progresses one will not get faster(may actually slow down as the stronger meditative state makes the body harder to speed up), but will become more able to put oneself in a difficult spiritual state of mind due to breathing more than required which is what puts one into the meditative/spiritual/altered state.  One must judge ones progress by how difficult it is to do these exercises due to the tough spiritual state it puts one in and the mental/spiritual effort required.  All of these exercise I mention in this note can be considered MIND-BODY EXERCISES.

STATIONARY MEDITATION does involve over breathing(hyperventilation), which will happen automatically when one focusing strongly on ones breathing.  One will be relaxed by this breathing which will slow the body down and make it require a lot less breathing in order to to maintain the state.  You do not need to do all of what I suggest when you meditate.  Be creative and do what works best for you.  To meditate, get in a comfortable position sitting or lying down, breath deeply tensing ones stomach muscles when breathing in, relaxing your stomach muscles when breathing out, while focusing on something or nothing at all. One can close ones eyes if this helps one focus, and can also squeeze ones hands(or thumb to index finger) and move ones feet alternately in rhythm with ones breathing. The tensing of the stomach muscles when breathing in tends to help one to breath a little more. One can tighten up ones stomach muscles a little more when doing a lying down meditation by using ones sit-up muscles to a degree without actually lifting ones upper body. Doing this(adding extra tension to the stomach when breathing in) will help one to relieve extra tension from the body and does not need to be done for long.  I find moving ones shoulder muscles up and down alternately in rhythm with ones breathing can help one relieve head and neck tension and I believe also increase blood flow to the brain so as to helps one to  get into a deeper meditative state.   The alternating movement of both the hands and the feet tends to connect one to the whole body while stimulating the nervous system giving one more of a sense of oneness. Losing oneself in the body helps the mind to better focus on the purpose of the meditation.   Meditation is like an exercise and must be adjusted to in regard to intensity, duration, and frequency. It can be hard to do just like an exercise, but can bring results over time.  Emotions power the spiritual, so one can focus on any emotions that are having an impact on you while meditating.  Also one can focus on desires one wants to gain more control of or on physical problems/pain so as to help one better cope with them and help them to heal.

MEDITATIVE WALKING   Breath in with one step and breath out with the next while focusing on whatever emotions that are disturbing ones inner peace. Focus as much of ones attention on breathing as intensely as possible.  When one gets really good at breathing really fast one can breath in and out with every step, but might have to slow down ones walking pace a little in order to do this.  Also attention can be given to the massaging ones neck to a degree with the raising of one shoulders a little more naturally happens as one does the normal arm movements that come with walking. The neck tends to absorb tension. The neck is so close to the brain that it can stimulate it with its motion.  One can also close one eyes during brief periods when one can safely get away with it.

I sometimes close my eyes with 6 steps and open for 2 steps when I am walking in an area with few distractions or dangers/obstacles. One can even strain to breath harder while closing ones eyes more tightly or squeezing one lips more tightly closed. Actually closing ones eyes more tightly and pressing ones lips together more strongly while doing a meditative walk will in time relieve tension in the head. Some people do damage to their teeth(gritting them due to tension). Pressing the lips strongly together will not cause any harm.

Meditative walking can be complicated and it takes a while to make it all happen automatically. One can be creative and figure out the best technique that will work for you. Relieving tension and transforming the emotions that are the source of the tension can be done while doing a meditative walk. Relieving stressful tension in the body does help one to improve the spiritual state one is in. Along with the tension one can also relieve any emotional imbalance one has that is creating the physical tension.

This is a description of how I am now doing my meditative walk. I have been doing meditative walking for over 2 decades, so I can do it very intensely with very intense rapid breathing. I breath in and out with each short step which is carefully place. I focus on moving my arm up and down a little more than normal walking action which massages the neck and provides more blood to the brain I believe. Within 3/4 of a mile of walking like this I get very tired, which means I must walk slower with more side to side motion to keep going. I burn out at the end. I do have to have careful foot placement on the Earth, since when one is tired and in an altered meditative state one will lose ones balance if one is not doing it carefully enough. I also close my eyes every couple of steps and try to intensify the effort/focus I am putting into this.

My MEDITATIVE RUNNING is like meditative walk, but with a slow running motion.  It  involves running with short quick steps and fast arm movements with strong side to side upper body movement while breathing in with one step and out with the the next one(or two).    One can do a slower meditative run while breathing in and out with each step. One can breath in rhythm with ones upper body movements which are naturally in rhythm with ones steps.  Ones upper body movement does help one to do quicker, shorter steps by helping ones feet to hit the ground more quickly.   Putting an added emphasis on vigorous upper body movements and shoulder movement I feel helps one to get more blood flow to the brain and seems to help the overall circulation get more revved up.  .  I find pains in my lower body often go away when I  focus more on massaging my neck by means of my shoulder movements, moving ones head so it is facing more upwardly will help one to massage ones neck more readily.  CHANNELING ONES ANGER INTO THESE SHOULDER MOVEMENTS WILL REALLY HELP ONE TO MAKE A LOT OF PROGRESS IN ALL MEDITATIVE EXERCISES.  One should focus on breathing as intensely as possible and can focus on intense or difficult emotions that one has been dealing with lately or has from ones past. This exercise can become quite intense as one gets good at it, with the steps getting shorter and faster and arm movement and breathing becoming more rapid.  One needs to get use to this exercise, as well as all forms of meditation or meditative exercises, over time in regards to intensity and frequency. The duration may vary depending on ones intensity. The rapid quick movements tend to rev up the nervous system which makes it a more intense mind-body exercise.

One will find one can not keep ones mind quiet or keep ones focus on ones emotions at all times when doing these exercises. One can do some thinking or have your mind wander at times while doing these exercises. But, one should try to really put forth the effort to keep the mind really quiet and focused to the point of really challenging oneself for as long as you can, and then after the mind wanders again for a while, make an other effort to quiet the mind and focus.  One can only advance in the effectiveness of ones techniques and reach a deeper spiritual state by focusing without the mind being distracted by thought a certain amount of the time while doing these meditative exercises.  Making the effort to quiet the mind by focusing all one can on increasing the intensity of the technique is how one advances further in how well one can do them.   One can even alternately open and close ones eyes while doing both the meditative running and walking exercises to help one focus even harder.  One can do this while opening ones eyes just enough to safely deal with ones surroundings.    Also,  ones can channel most of ones intensity into really focusing on and getting better at the breathing side of the exercise.  One will notice a sort of floating feeling in ones mind and tingling in ones face and even some itching in certain parts of the body when one is really doing well with the breathing.  One can learn to not let any itching adversely affect you.

Being able to be relaxed under intense conditions or when facing strong emotions is what one can gain from this type of training. One may need to do some stretching and weightlifting also being careful not to injure oneself and focus on ones breathing while doing them. Both of these will help the body to better handle the mind-body running exercise. As one progresses these exercises should become increasingly hard to do, provided one is really trying to put oneself in a difficult spiritual state by keeping one mind really focused on breathing really intensely and putting forth as much effort as possible. One will find this exercise hard to do if one does not have spiritual beliefs that really connect you strongly to the physical/spiritual reality that we all exist in at this moment. The spiritual truth has a lot of power to it. The closer ones beliefs are to the truth, the more one can use the strength one gains from these beliefs to power ones meditative/mind-body exercises.  One will find that when doing these exercises that any beliefs one has that are not good enough to help one handle the intense and difficult spiritual state on is able to get into will tend to surface and one will tend to think about them while exercising.  One can spend some of these exercises in deep spiritual thought, but should keep the mind quiet and focus on the exercise and ones emotions for as long as one can in order to get the most intensity and value out of them.

I take nutritional supplements in order to handle my intense spiritual exercise program. I require a lot of protein, B-vitamins, calcium-magnesium, vitamin C, and other nutrients. Everyone is different, so one needs to figure out what works best for you, but I think it is important to get extra nutrition when taking on really intensely challenging forms of exercise of any kind.  Here is a link related to my diet and how it has evolved:   https://astrogoodwin.wordpress.com/2012/03/25/the-diet-i-use-to-help-me-handle-my-intense-physicalspiritual-exercise/

CARDIOVASCULAR EXERCISE:  I believe any exercise done in a way that one has to focus extremely hard spiritually  in order to do it is meditative to a degree.   I do an exercise routine that involves such a really intense cardiovascular(heart&circulation) exercise .  This is a link to the intense dumbbell swing exercise routine I do Monday, Wednesdays, and Friday:

This is my current exercise routine on days I do not do the dumbbell swings routine:  At 4:15 AM, I do crunches, then stretching followed by a 2 mile meditative run starting out harder and ending in a slow meditative run. Most of my harder part of my run I breath in with one step and out with the next two.  When doing my slower meditative run, I breath in and out with each step.  During meditative runs I really focus hard on moving my shoulders up and down and keeping my head raised upwardly so as to massage my neck in a way to direct more blood flow to the brain.  I try to keep track of my breathing rhythm, not by my steps, but by my downward action of my arms which is automatically in sync with each step. I also try to close my eyes a few steps at a time, opening them enough to see what I need to, and really strain to get the most out of me.

Why I do not “Go With The Flow” spiritually

This was motivated in response to a YouTube video on alcohol by Abraham Hicks.

I am not much for “going with the flow”. I have found going with the flow is not good for my survival. I have no desire for junk food, or drugs. I take no prescription drugs. I feel the spiritual status quo on this Earth is quite messed up. If one really wants to have a really positive spiritual impact on this world one has to be good at improving the spiritual flow around you. I train to get stronger and healthier physically and spiritually so that I can straighten out the messed up spiritual energy around me on this planet. There is a constant interplay between the inner and the outer spiritually.

My extremely hard meditative/mind-body exercises I do put me in really challenging spiritual states and condition myself to be able to handle them well. A person who trains themselves really hard at something will do better than one who does not train themselves that hard. The physical body will feel stress when taking on tough spiritual/emotional challenges, it needs to be trained to be able to handle this stress.

I understand a lot of people were born with the right capabilities to fit in well in this world and the “go with the flow” spiritual approach works well enough for them. I am not into just “feeling happy”. I only can feel good about myself if I am working really hard to contribute something valuable to this world. I do focus on making the future a better one. My focus in the present is to keep me heading in the right direction so as to improve where I am headed in the future. Having hope for a better future is very important to helping people who are struggling in the present to keep working hard and feeling good about themselves despite the present stormy conditions they are going through. Trying to improve “the flow” so it will be better in the future is very important to the well being of a lot of people on the planet Earth right now.
